The
purpose of this program is to provide an
alternative method for a student to
recover lost high school credit and to
graduate on time.
To
qualify for Credit Recovery, students
must have:

Completed at least one year of
high school and

* Failed one or more required
classes or

* Missed a required class due to
transfer, illness

or scheduling conflict.
All
course work must be completed at the
Learning Center. Home access may be
available for special circumstances. An
application with documentation and
approval from the Director are required.
All assessments and final tests must be
completed at the Learning Center.
Completion
dates for Credit Recovery will be
determined by the referring high school.
The
cost for Credit Recovery is $50.00
per semester course (1/2 credit). A
completed application and fee payment
must be received prior to enrollment.
Fees are nonrefundable.
Students
must earn 80% or higher on mastery tests
and essay responses in order to complete
a lesson. The following grading scale
will be applied:
A
= 94-100%
B
= 86-93%
C
= 80-85%
Multiple
opportunities are given to revise work.
If a student earns 95% or higher on the
pre-test for a lesson, he/she will
receive automatic credit for the lesson.
Final
course grades are an average of a
students scores on all mastery tests,
essay responses and final exams. The
following grading scale will be applied
for course grades:
A =
94-100%
B =
86-93%
C =
80-85%
D =
75-79%
All
credits gained through Credit Recovery
will be put on the transcript using the
course name-LC (e.g. Biology-LC).
Students
must adhere to the attendance and
behavior guidelines as outlined in the
handbook.
