SAE International is offering 2009 Engineering Scholarships. To apply go to www.sae.org/students/engschlr.htm   The Deadline is December 1, 2008

 

Kansas State (K-State) has scholarships available; the priority date for their premier scholarships is November 1, 2008

 

The Council for America’s First Freedom announces the 16th annual “The First Freedom Student Competition”.  This national essay contest offers 9th-12th grade students an opportunity to compete for $3,000, $1,500 and $750.  You may enter on-line at http://www.firstfreedom.org/ the deadline is November 24th  

 

Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans is offering scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 to students who have financial need, exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity.  To complete an application, go to HoratioAlger@act.org or come to the counseling office for more details.  The deadline is October 30, 2008

 

The Air National Guard has Opportunities such as 100% tuition assistance, the Reserve Montgomery GI Bill and it Kicker, and the $ 20,000 student loan repayment program, if interested see counseling office for more details. 

 

The Gates Millennium Scholars are offering scholarships to students to attend any US accredited college of their choice, with renewable funding for up to five years in any discipline at the undergraduate level.  For scholarship criteria, see http://www.gmsp.org/ or come to the guidance office for more details.  The deadline is January 12, 2009.   

 

Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship Program. Students may receive up to $180,000 available toward tuition, fees, and living expenses.  They cover full tuition, books, fees, uniforms, and a monthly stipend of up to $400.00.  Come to the guidance office for an application

 

Army ROTC scholarships are available.  They have full tuition scholarships, an annual stipend of up to $5,000 to cover living expenses, plus additional allowances for books and fees. 

 

American Legion Auxiliary is offering 5 Spirit of Youth Scholarship for Junior Members.  This is a four-year $1,000 per scholarship and will be given to a Junior Member of the Auxiliary.  You must be a current member and have held membership for the past three years.   The deadline is March 1, 2009 come to the guidance office for the application or more details.

 

American Legion Auxiliary is offering the National President’s Scholarship.  There will be 3 scholarships worth $2,500, $2,000, and $1,000.  You must be a direct descendant, step-children, or step grandchildren of US wartime veterans who served during one or more of the periods of war.  Come to guidance office to find out more information.  The Deadline is March 1st, 2009. 

 

American Legion Auxiliary is offering the Past Presidents’ Parley Nurses Training Scholarship.  You must be a direct descendant, step-children, or step grandchildren of US wartime veterans who served during one or more of the periods of war. The deadline is April 15th come to the guidance office for more details. 

 

American Legion Auxiliary is offering 2 $1,000 and 2 $500 scholarships.  Candidates must be daughters, sons or grandchildren of the veterans who served in the Armed Forces during eligibility dates for membership in the American Legion.  The deadline is March 11th please come to guidance office for more details. 

 

The United States JCI Senate Foundation is offering a $1,000 grant to graduation high school seniors in the United States, who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools.  The deadline is December 20, 2008.  Please come to the guidance office for an application or more details. 

 

The Colorado Society of Mayflower Descendants will award 2 Scholarships worth $ 1,000 scholarship to high school seniors planning to attend any accredited college, university, or vocational institution.  The deadline is March 15, 2009 and you may download an application from www.colradomayflowersociety.org

 

The KFC Colonel’s Scholars are offering $20,000 scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to attend in state colleges or universities.  You may apply online between December 1, 2008 to February 10, 2009; the website is www.kfcscholars.org

 

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Rocky Mountain Section is offering the Society of Women Engineers Scholarship.  They will award at least on $500 scholarship.  The deadline is February 2, and you may obtain an application in the guidance office or at ww.swe-rms.org

 

The National Society of Women Engineers are offering varying scholarships from $1000 to $5000.  The national application may be obtained on line at www.societyofwomenengineers.org/scholarships/brochure.aspx.  The deadline is May 15th. 

 

The Charter Fund is offering scholarships that range from $1000 to 3000 to a Colorado high school that intends to attend a college any where in the United States.  The Deadline is May 1, 2009 and an application may be obtained in the counseling office. 

 

Ayn Rand Fountainhead scholarship is being offered and the deadline is April 25, 2009.  They award:

 

First Prize of $10,000

5 Second Prizes of $2,000

10 Third Prizes of $1,000

45 Finalist Prizes of $100

175 Semifinalist prizes of $50

 

The McKelvey Foundation is offering a $40,000 scholarship to a senior who has demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit by owning and operating their own business while in high school.  The deadline is January 25, 2009 and you may obtain an application from mckelveyfoundation.org

 

Toyota Community Scholars is offering 100 renewable scholarships valued at $10,000 to $20,000 payable over fours to seniors who enroll at a four-year college or university in the United States.  For more details come to the counseling office. 

 

Need a lift?  Come to the counseling office to view the American Legion’s Need A Lift book on College Financial Aid and view Legion Scholarships. 

 

College in Colorado.org is offering $850 scholarship.  To apply click on the Get Schooled link under scholarship on ColleginColorado.org.  Applications are due December 31st.  

 

The Colorado Masons’ Benevolent Fund is offering a $7000 renewable scholarship for up to four years totaling $28,000.  Please come to the guidance office for an application.  The deadline is February 21, 2009. 

 

Boston University is offering The Alexander Graham Bell, Trustee, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarships.  These scholarships are renewable and cover the full cost of tuition.  They are also offering other scholarships to the school if interested in BU please come to the counseling office for more details.  The deadline for these scholarships is December 1st. 

 

Burger King Scholars Program is offering a $1,000 scholarship.  To obtain an application go to www.bk.com/scholars.  The deadline is February 2, 2009

 

University of Colorado at Boulder presents the Presidents Leadership Class.  If you intend to attend University of Colorado at Boulder By joining this organization you may be eligible for Scholarships to University of Colorado.  You could receive the First Bank Scholarship Fund ($6,000 over 4 years); Alvin G. Flanagan Scholarship, Walker Family Scholarship, and the Jamie Hallum Scholarship ($1,000 annual); Michael Lee Hoelscher Memorial Endowment and the El Pomar Scholarship ($2,000 annual) 

 

The American Legion is offering the High School Oratorical Scholarship. 

1st place: $18,000, 2nd $16,000, and 3rd place $14,000.  For more details go to www.legion.org. 

 

The AXA Foundation is offering the AXA Achievement Scholarship.  They are offering:

  • 52 $10,000 scholarships (one from each state, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico)
  • $15,000 additional scholarships to 10 national recipients chosen form the pool of 52 state winners, bringing their total award to $25,000.  The national scholarship winners will also be offered internships at AXA offices. 

 

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is giving out the DAR Good Citizens scholarship.  State winners receive $250 and the National Winner receives $5,000 will invited to Washington DC to receive his or her reward.  Come to the counseling office for more details. 

 

University of Chicago is taking applicants for their 2008 Small School Talent Search, for more details come to the guidance office.
