Press Release - Director District 6 Vacancy
The Board of Education of RE-1 Valley School District declares a vacancy in school director district 6 due to a lack of candidates during the election. In accordance with state law, the Board declared a vacancy in school director district 6 at its regular meeting on November 18, 2019.
1.Interested persons are invited to send an application to the Board of Education with a letter of interest and qualifications by December 11, 2019.
2.The Board will interview prospective candidates on December 16, 2019 at a public meeting.
3.To be eligible for appointment, an applicant must reside in director district 6 and must have been a registered elector of the RE-1 Valley School District for at least twelve consecutive months prior to the date of appointment.
4.The appointee will serve until the next regular school biennial election in November 2021.
Board of Education Vacancy Application packets are to be turned in to Kelly Jo Harlow, Secretary to the Board of Education, at the Hagen Administration Building, 301 Hagen St., Sterling, Colorado.
Interested candidates must complete an application that consists of a letter of interest, resume, and a list of three references.
The application must be received in the office of the Secretary to the Board of Education by 4:00 p.m., December 11, 2019.
5.The Board of Education plans to appoint the person to fill this vacancy at its Business Meeting scheduled for December 16, 2019.
