Due to the continuation of school closures into the summer, Sterling and Caliche High Schools will offer the 2019-20 summer credit recovery classes through Colorado Digital Learning Solutions (CDLS). CDLS will provide the online courses taught by highly qualified teachers. Mrs. Hradecky (SHS) and Mrs. Marick (CJHS) will serve as site coordinators.
Who is eligible to take summer classes?
Any Sterling High School or Caliche High School student currently enrolled in grades 9-12 who has taken and failed one or more required classes is eligible for summer credit recovery.
What are the technology requirements?
Students must have access to the internet and an internet capable device (desktop, Chromebook, laptop, Ipad, etc.). District Chromebooks and hotspots will be available for checkout as needed.
What are the session dates?
Summer credit recovery will run from June 1 - July 24, 2020. Students will be able to finish courses before the scheduled end date.
What is the cost?
CDLS is charging a reduced rate of $25 per course. RE-1 Valley will pay the registration fee(s) for each student. However, if students fail to successfully complete the course(s), they will be required to repay the registration fee(s) to the district.
How many classes can a student take?
Registration for more than one credit recovery course will be based on a student’s performance and achievement history and at the discretion of Mrs. Hradecky or Mrs. Marick, Site Coordinators.
How do I register?
Registration will be open from May 12 – May 25, 2020. Go to 2020 Summer Credit Recovery to complete the online registration form. Registrations must be completed by Monday, May 25, 2020.
