No School Friday, November 14, 2025

Dear RE-1 Valley Parents and Guardians,

RE-1 Valley Schools will be closed on Friday, November 14, 2025, for all students and staff.

This day will be treated similarly to a snow day that is built into our calendar, and there will be no school or activities scheduled for that day.

Our district is incredibly proud of the success of our student-athletes this fall! Both the Caliche Buffaloes and Sterling Tiger volleyball teams have advanced to the state tournament, and our Buffalo football team continues its playoff run.

Because so many of our teachers also serve as coaches or are parents of students competing at the state level, we are facing a shortage of substitute teachers to adequately cover classrooms. Out of respect for instructional time and to ensure a smooth and supportive experience for everyone, the district has decided to close school for the day.

We encourage families and community members to join us in supporting our Lady Buffs and Lady Tigers at the state tournament and celebrating the accomplishments of all our fall sports teams.

We will continue working on the academic calendar in the coming weeks and anticipate adopting a two-year calendar in December, which will help us better plan for events like this in the future.

What a great problem to have, so many of our RE-1 Valley student-athletes representing our schools and community at the state level! Go Buffs! Go Tigers!

Sincerely,

Dustin Hunt
Superintendent of Schools
