The state of Colorado requires that all students in the public school system be compliant with state required vaccinations. This also includes those students who are remote/virtual and enrolled in RE#ONE pathways. Legally students are not allowed to be in school if their vaccinations are not compliant. Compliant means that the student's vaccinations are completed and compliant in our system, an exemption form is signed and turned in or there is a plan in process (the student has a doctor appointment to receive the vaccination). The school will need a note from the doctor's office stating they will be receiving the vaccination on "this date". The health assistant will then follow up after that date. This year the exclusion date for non-compliant student vaccinations is October 30th. Your child will not be allowed to come to school on or after October 30th if they are not compliant with their vaccinations. If you are unsure about your child's vaccination status, please reach out to the health office your child's school and they can assist you. Resources for vaccinations include: Any primary care provider office Northeast Colorado Health Department Any of the pharmacies Links to required vaccinations and exemption forms https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/schoolrequiredvaccines https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/vaccine-exemptions The health office and the district appreciates your cooperation with this.

Hello SMS Parents, We are trying to plan and stay ahead of pandemic preparedness! To ensure we are ready in the event we should need to go back to remote learning, all Re-1 Valley schools will practice this and go remote for one day only on Friday, October 16th, we do realize this may be an inconvenience for many but our superintendent feels it is an important step that must be taken. We do hope this is ample notification for parents to make arrangements for the day. October 16th will be considered an attendance day and all students will be expected to attend classes virtually. Devices will be checked out to those students in need just as we had to do in March. We will be surveying students this week and next to see if they will need a Chromebook or a Hotspot (WiFi connection). If you are unsure that your student will give us the correct info, please email our student services coordinator, Wendy Lozier at firstname.lastname@example.org with your needs. Unfortunately we will need the chromebooks returned again right away as we are still using all our devices in the classrooms and unable to go to one-to-one yet at this point at SMS. We have many Chromebooks on order and hope to make that happen in the near future. SMS Virtual Schedule for that day will be as follows: Block 1: 8:00-8:45 Block 2: 9:00-9:45 Block 3: 10:00-10:45 Block 4: 11:00-11:45 A Grab-And-Go Lunch will also be available for students and they can be picked up at SHS or Caliche (drive thru as it was in the spring) from 12-1, please contact our cafeteria to let Sandy Spahn know you will be picking up lunch. email@example.com or call the office at 522-1041 and we can transfer you to the cafeteria. Students will return to school as normal on Tuesday, Oct 20th. (students already on remote learning will stay that way)
RE-1 Valley School District would like to thank Walmart for the gift of school supplies for our students. Each school received $100 worth of supplies. We are so grateful to have such a great community partner.
Should I keep my child home? This checklist should be used each day to help determine that: https://5il.co/khhm.

SMS Traffic Flow 1. All traffic through the front parking lot will enter via Pawnee Avenue and exit onto Elm Street. 2. Students being picked up will meet parents in the area near the flagpole. 3. The area near and east of the gazebo will be for bus students only. 4. Parents are not to use the east parking lot to drop off or pick up students. That is for bus traffic only.
