According to state data, more than 16,000 K-12 students in Colorado experienced some form of homelessness during the 2021-22 school year. Re-1 District would like to thank our wonderful staff, students, and community for participating in our Hats For Homeless on Nov. 17th. We are excited to announce that we were able to raise $4,500 for our Mckinney Vento Students! We would also like to thank Cindy Reyes our Family Community Advocate for all of the hard work and dedication she puts into supporting our students. She was the driving force behind this event and spent countless hours preparing and planning for this special day!

The Caliche FFA is holding its Annual Giving Tree Program beginning on December 1st. All the gifts go to families involved with Help for Abused Partners. Ornaments will be placed on a tree in the elementary and high school offices for you to pick up with mandatory and optional purchases for each individual or family. Gifts must be returned and placed under the tree by December 15th. Please have gifts wrapped with the ornament that you selected attached to the package.

Caliche Schools is hosting its 2nd Buffs Hat Day, Friday, November 17th, in conjunction with 'Hat Day for the Homeless'. Students and staff may donate $2.00 to wear their hat of choose for the day. Proceeds from the day will be split between the Caliche Activity Fund and the McKinney-Veto Homeless Fund. 'Hat Day for the Homeless" is a District campaign to raise money to help the increase homeless student population within the district. Cindy Reyes, the district's Family Community Advocate, invites the community to help in the effort.
