In accordance with state law, the Board of Education of the RE-1 Valley School District declared a vacancy in School Director District 4 at its regular meeting on December 15, 2025, after no candidate filed for election to the position.
1. Persons interested in filling the vacancy in Director District 4 on the RE-1 Valley School District Board of Education are invited to submit an application to the Board of Education. Application materials must include a statement of interest, a résumé, and three (3) references, and must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2026.
2. The Board of Education will interview prospective candidates at a public meeting on January 20, 2026, which will be properly noticed in accordance with state law.
3. To be eligible for appointment, an applicant must be a registered elector of the RE-1 Valley School District and must have resided in Director District 4 for at least twelve (12) consecutive months immediately preceding the date of appointment, and must continue to reside in Director District 4 while serving.
4. The individual appointed to fill the vacancy will serve until the next regular school biennial election in November 2027, in accordance with state law.
